7 Things I'm Loving Lately

Lately, I have been super caught up in sorting out my life. I've been busy perfecting my resume, job hunting, and recreating my blog/brand (ahhh). But as busy as we humans get, it's super important to always take time and enjoy the little things each day has to offer. Soo today, I'm taking a break from the business just to write what's on my mind. I figured a good place to start is just sharing some things I've been loving on recently- the things keeping me sane! Here we go!

 

7 Things I'm Loving Lately

 

Meditating outside

The weather has been perfect for this! The best days are the ones I find time to sit with nature and connect to my breath. 

 

Walks with my dog, Quincy

A happy pooch means a happy me! Seeing him smile outside in the sunshine fills me with so much joy. We go on at least one walk every day, it's something I refuse to skip!

 

Saying "No"

I've recently discovered the magic of NOT spreading myself too thin. Simply saying "no, thank you" to social invitations when I've already planned a night of self-care has allowed me to catch up on sleep, make time for small things I enjoy (such as reading) and just be.

 

Making smoothie bowls

Pitaya, Acai, ayy yiyi. I love making my smoothie bowls in the morning. It's like a meditation for me, only with a delicious end result! I've recently discovered lots of new toppings that hold amazing nutritional value. I'm pumped to taste-test them all!

 

Being a Plant Mama

I've always had little plants around the house- but I recently visited Ott's Exotic Plants and couldn't resist bringing home a couple baby succulents and cacti that will eventually outgrow their pots and need to be re-planted! This is my first time taking care of growing plants and I am digging it, literally! #punny

 

Gettin My Gut Right

I've never been one to over analyze my diet in the past. In fact, I gave up meat and dairy products simply because I love animals, not for personal health reasons. So, with help from my macro-counting fiancé and my health/wellness mentor, I've recently decided to be more aware of what I'm feeding my body, as well as cut all processed foods and added sugars from my diet. It's been a journey (read more about it here!), but I feel so much better than before I started paying attention! 

 

 

Road Trip plannin

In August, Mike's fam planned a trip down to New Orleans to visit his great grand dad's exhibit in the WWII museum- how cool is that!? Not only am I excited to learn more about Mike's family history and spend time exploring NOLA, but we decided to drive instead of fly, which means happy road trip mapping to me!! 

Hint- there will also be some wedding trip planning along the way ;p
