“If we look at the world with a love of life, the world will reveal its beauty to us.” ~Daisaku Ikeda
You know that feeling when you've been on a roll with creative ideas, when it feels like you've been floating on a cloud of inspiration and magical things are just pouring out of your soul? And then all of a sudden you hit a wall- the inspiration swirling around inside of you selfishly decides that it's time to move on? Writer's block kicks in, your creativity begins to suffer, etc......
If you've been feeling stuck or just plain uninspired, these ideas may help you manifest that inspiration back into your life-
Try -or learn- something new //
Trying something brand new is actually proven to stimulate parts of the brain that we weren't accessing before- seriously! According to Dr. Kathryn Pap (Neuropsychologist at Harvard Medical School), learning a new skill may create new connectionsbetween brain cells by changing the balance of available neurotransmitters and changing how these connections are made. Science said it, folks. I'm just sharing it.
Disconnect from your phone for a while //
When we spend hours scrolling through social media feeds, we immerse ourselves in what is currently inspiring other people, rather than finding that authentic inspiration for ourselves.
Take a deep breath //
Relieve some of the pressure you put on yourself. Frustration is uninviting towards Inspiration.
Create a vision board or a bucket list //
These crafts open up our minds to help us envision countless possibilities for our future, and are also super fun to make!
Make today the day you start embracing a new healthy habit //
Healthy habits help to keep our minds clear of any fog or gunk that starts to build up in there, making room for new inspiration and motivation!
Make a conscious decision to let go of something that is not serving you or is weighing you down //
Carrying the weight of things that don't serve you is not only uninspiring, but just plain exhausting! Spring clean your life and make room for new inspiration!
Take a walk and meditate in nature //
Practice mindfulness and being present in the moment. Be only where your feet are!
Watch some Planet Earth on Netflix //
I know, this one might sound silly. But this documentary always reminds me that the world is vast and full of endless possibilities!
Write in a journal //
Scribble down whatever comes to mind, even if it starts with "I don't know what the hell to write." Just start somewhere!
Have a conversation with somebody you admire //
After all, sometimes it just takes some good company and meaningful conversation to bring inspiration back into your life.
And most importantly- don't become defeated. Inspiration comes and goes throughout our lives, but keep at your work, whatever it may be. When inspiration stumbles across your path again, you want it to find somebody (you) who's dedicated to their art. Even if that art is in fact just to be happy! In short- don't give up.
